This
is a fun co-exhibit of works by Jennifer Davis and
Daniel Buettner. Davis's painting/collages often
feature attractive, retro-styled women, sometimes
with floating bubbles surrounding them or with strange
appendages--one subject's pageboy haircut is augmented
by a tree of monkeys sprouting from her head. Buettner's
collages are not as arresting as Davis's, but he
has a secret weapon--each work is accompanied by
a clever short story, and the two combined make
an entertaining whole. Rock and Roll Is the Science
of Getting Laid doesn't have a girl in sight: The
painting has a microphone and a birthday cake, and
the story is of comical wannabes posing as a band
until they blow a fuse and the power is cut. Gallery
hours noon to 8:00 p.m.
