FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Rosalux Gallery’s bi-annual benefit exhibition,
Green
Closing reception & raffle drawing: Saturday, August
5th, 7-11pm
Show runs: July 25th – August 5th, 2006
To help keep
the doors of this not-for-profit visual arts venture open,
in July 2006, Rosalux will host its bi-annual benefit
exhibition, Green. For this special exhibition, each of
the Rosalux artists have donated at least one of their
creations, based on the color theme of green. Though Rosalux
has a number of artists who work with recycled materials
and earth-friendly pigments and adhesives, no, this is
not as its name might suggest, the currently en vogue
‘environmentally conscious’ show. But if it
makes the do-gooders feel better, attendees and raffle
participants will be helping cultivate the opportunities
for arts and culture that Rosalux yields – and keeping
it in the green.
For two weeks,
prior to the closing reception of the exhibition, visitors
to Rosalux will be able to view the works as well as buy
‘raffle’ tickets (at a very reasonable $5
each) to win the pieces on show. Each of the works donated
will have a separate corresponding space to deposit raffle
tickets. So, for as little as five bucks, eager art appreciators
have the chance to become collectors of a specific Rosalux
artists’ work.
This
special exhibition is a rare opportunity for the public
not only to see all of the Rosalux artists showing together,
but also to possibly take home a piece of fine art, raffle-style,
for a fraction of its regular price. All proceeds will
go toward the operational costs of this unique cooperative
artistic endeavor.
