Artist Talk with Hend Al-Mansour, Saturday, September 28th, 3 - 4pm
In this exhibition, Hend Al-Mansour shares the digital origins of her traditional artworks with the audience, showcasing the initial digital designs and how they materialize into the final physical art pieces. For the last decade, Al-Mansour has gradually utilized drawing programs to create foundations for blueprints and used them to generate silkscreen negatives, multi-sized paintings, and large-scale murals.
Shamelessly, the artist takes the viewers into the secretive world of fast, precise, and size-flexible art-making, where digital drafts are the basis of physical artwork. Some of the digital sketches never made it to the physical world but were complete as they are. During this journey, the artist discovered a love for moving images and started producing animations where the narratives are paintings and drawings.
